Zeald is one of the largest and fastest growing website design and e-business consultancy companies in New ZealdZealand. Our vision is to help small to medium sized companies generate amazing results online using a website and other methods of electronic marketing. To date, we have helped tens of thousands of businesses throughout New Zealand and Australia use the Internet as an extremely powerful and effective sales and marketing tool.

Zeald now employs over 60 operational staff and have 20 specialised E-Business Consultants working with our clients throughout New Zealand and Australia.

A Brief History

Zeald was formed in late 2000 and now has over 12 years of trading experience in websites and online marketing. In the early days, we were very much like any other website company. We thought that delivering a pretty website with lots of ‘bells and whistles’ was the ‘beginning, middle and end’ of the website business. However, after a few years we started to understand the true needs of their customers. The large majority of our customers wanted a website that produced results – a website that would drive more business!

The key question was … how could we deliver this?

To successfully deliver ‘more business’ would require a much more sophisticated and robust approach to websites; an approach that delivers all the key components necessary to create and maintain an extremely successful website. We provide a complete ‘start to finish’ solution that takes the business owner through every key step required to build a website that generates amazing amounts of new business.

Our Mission

Our overall mission at Zeald is to become a worldwide, ‘world-class’ provider of 'results focused' online solutions. What this means is as follows.

We are committed to providing ‘results focused’ online solutions.

This means that we provide not just technical solutions, but all the different aspects that are required to make an online sales and marketing tool work for your business. Most website designers provide technical solutions but have no concern for whether the solution works for your business. We take a more holistic approach by always incorporating the necessary components to maximise the chances of you generating serious results online.

We are committed to being ‘world-class’.

This means that at Zeald being average or meeting the industry standard is simply not good enough. We want to be known as an organisation that is relentlessly striving to achieve the highest standards of excellence. We know that at different times in our history we have failed to meet our own high standards, and our customers standards, but we are always striving to improve and to go to the next level. To make this happen we implement the concept of 'continual ongoing improvement'. We know that at times we will fail... but we must always learn and improve from the experience to minimise the chance of it happening again the future. Continual ongoing improvement is one of our core values of our organisation and is part of the very make-up of our culture. Every member of the Zeald team contributes and is responsible for the ongoing improvement of the company.

We want to be a worldwide organisation.

Zeald currently has offices in New Zealand and Australia. But, we know that Zeald is an amazing organisation, with an extremely talented team and a powerful set of products and services. Ultimately we want to have offices around the world. However, there are always risks associated with growing too fast and we are acutely aware of those risks. While we are determined to be a worldwide organisation, we refuse to fall into the trap of growing too quickly. It may take us 10 years, 20 years or even 50 years. Good things take time and good things stand the test of time!

The way a team works together, as a whole, has a huge impact on its success. You can have the greatest bunch of individuals in the world but if they don't work well together, if they don’t respect each other and support each other, the organisation will always be mediocre. A Happy, Enjoyable and Fulfilling Work Environment.

Most people spend a significant amount of their lives at work. It is important to everyone at Zeald that time spent at work is happy, enjoyable and fulfilling. Zeald is not just about the ‘almighty dollar’. It is not just about making money at the expense of everything else (although making money is still important). Zeald is about providing an environment that everyone involved with the company enjoys on a day-to-day basis.

Good Old Fashioned, Unfailing, Honesty, Integrity & Respect.

Zeald’s very foundation is based on honesty, integrity and respect. We practice these principles throughout our working day. We do our utmost to treat everyone we interact with, with courtesy and respect, recognising each other’s skills and shortcomings. We encourage each other as much as possible and praise each others strengths. We always hesitate to reprove and be critical and do so only if it is absolutely necessary. If we have to reprimand or be critical we always do it in private and never ever in public. (Many of our commitments to respecting each other as individuals are summed up in our Courtesy System.)

Positive and Passionate People

We are a group of positive and passionate, 'solution oriented', individuals. We recognise the damage that negative, critical attitudes and a continual focus on the 'problems' rather than on the 'solutions' has on ourselves and everyone else around us. We recognise that positive and passionate people are well liked, well respected, and enjoyable to be around.

Dedicated Continuous Ongoing Improvement to ‘World-Class’ Standards

We strive to continually improve - both ourselves individually, and the organisation as a whole. Our goal as an organisation is to be nothing short of 'world-class'. We embrace change and consistent ongoing improvement and innovation. Systems form the foundation of everything we do. We follow the system and we each take responsibility for continuing to develop and improve the systems that we work with. If a problem arises, we look to blame a system before we blame a person. We look for a systems resolution before we look for a people resolution.

Our Courtesy System

Integrity and respect are incredibly important parts of the culture of Zeald. Right from the company’s inception, we have looked to develop a system of courtesy; a set of rules that we follow as a team to ensure that our work environment is as happy and enjoyable as is possible. We follow this system of courtesy not only with each other but also with anyone who is associated with Zeald; including our customers. We also ask that our customers follow this system of courtesy when dealing with us.

(Please note – we are incredibly indebted to Dr Paddy Lund – a dentist from Australia whose teachings have substantially assisted us with the development of our courtesy system).

At Zeald, we have eight rules of courtesy that we follow. They are as follows:

  1. Speak very politely using a person's name 'please' and 'thank you' as a minimum.
  2. When you talk about a person who is not present, speak as if they are listening to your conversation. Use the person’s name in each sentence in which you refer to them.
  3. If you have a problem with someone, talk about the problem only with him or her and in private.
  4. Apologise and make restitution if someone is upset by your actions.
  5. Greet and farewell everyone by name and with eye contact.
  6. Blame a system not a person.
  7. Tell the truth!
  8. Use positive conversation.

By following this system of courtesy, we have developed an incredible team environment at Zeald. We have an amazing team of unique individuals that get on well with each other despite their vast differences and backgrounds. Moreover, we have an environment that is largely free of complicated politics, backstabbing and the various other unpleasant things that are common practice in many organisations. We are determined that this is not lost as the organisation continues to develop and grow.
