Chris Lennon - A Biography

Chris has a varied career starting in television before moving into software programming and IT project management.  Chris manages the production team at Zeald.

Chris Lennon began his working career in television, starting as a Videotape editor for Omcicron, a corporate video production house, and working his way up the TV career ladder to become a Television Director for TV3.

After returning to New Zealand from some overseas travel in 1997, Chris began to look for a new challenge.  A flatmate of Chris’s was a computer programmer and had purchased the latest computer (a ‘486’ – now a long forgotten model) and Chris bought this computer from his flatmate for $1000.00.  Chris then proceeded to spend his days (and most nights!) teaching himself computer programming.

Armed with his new skills Chris began freelance programming for various companies, specializing in building software for Accountants.

In 1999 Chris went to work for Security Response Team, a security company as an IT Manager.  A highlight of this period was implemenenting a custom-built operational system that transferred data from laptops installed in the Security Guards’ vehicles to and from the head office IT system.

The next phase of Chris’s IT career saw him work for Richmastery, a property education and marketing company where he was in charge of the website, and all IT systems.  During this time Chris gained valuable insight into what it takes to build and continuously improve a profitable online marketing strategy.

In 2004 Chris led a software production team to produce RevIQ - a desktop Real Estate Analysis Software program targeted at residential software investors.  This software was very successful, selling thousands of units throughout New Zealand and Australia.  

The final section of Chris’s career, prior to joining Zeald saw him involved in a number of companies in the Richmastery Group at a strategic leadership level, formulating and executing IT projects designed to produce a return on investment for the companies involved.  A highlight of this period was building a complete email and TXT marketing system.  In its first year of operation this system sent over 4 million emails, and 10,000 TXT messages.  This system gathered valuable information on email and TXT marketing conversion ratios, and the company was able to further refine and improve their marketing systems as a result of the business intelligence gathered.

Chris is married with three children and lives in Albany (he loves the three minute commute to work!).  Week-ends you will see him cycling in the back-blocks, or playing in the yard with his three children.  On Sundays he attends LIFE church.
