Ji Hoon Yang - A Biography

Being Generation Y, Ji Hoon grew up with computers and technology, and remembers his first computer (486), as well as the moment when his computer dial-up connection was replaced with broadband.

Ji Hoon was born in South Korea and immigrated with his family to Christchurch, New Zealand at the age of 7.

He grew up in the Garden City and attended Burnside High School in Christchurch, where he gained a solid base for further education, as well as making lifelong friends.

Outside of school, Ji Hoon played tennis and soccer for local clubs, as well as playing golf for his high school team. He remembers his first job as a teenager at the local Golf Driving Range picking up golf balls, and greatly appreciated having access to the Driving Range before work.

During the summer holidays between high school and university, Ji Hoon worked as a Car Rental Representative at the airport, where he benefited from learning customer service skills and interacting with customers from all over the world.

After spending his first year at university, Ji Hoon moved to Auckland seeking a different landscape, where he studied Marketing and Accounting at the University of Auckland.

He looks forward to the continuous development and improvement of technology, and is an early adopter of any new products hitting the market.

Ji Hoon has a keen interest in sport and travel, and flew on 22 flights around the world last year! During his university studies, Ji Hoon went for a working holiday to Calgary, Canada, where he worked as a Guest Services Specialist for Canada Olympic Park. This was a great experience for him, where he truly understood and appreciated the importance of quality customer service, as well as enjoying his duties and responsibilities assigned to him.

On his off days, Ji Hoon and his friends traveled around Alberta and British Columbia to the ski fields of the Canadian Rockies, which was very different to the places here in New Zealand.

Ji Hoon's work experience combined with his studies have taught him to communicate effectively and also understand the marketing and accounting aspects of a business. His positive 'can-do' attitude is also a great asset when it comes to helping people with any questions or issues.

Towards the end of his university studies, Ji Hoon joined the team at Zeald and looks forward to interacting with the wide variety of customers and adding value to their businesses with his experience.
