Louise (Lulu) Rose

Louise (Lulu) Rose
Lulu has a rich customer service history across a range of industries including pharmaceuticals, computers, banking and travel.  She is passionate about helping our clients increase their business through improving their website and online presence.

Lulu was born in Auckland and is of Croatian descent - all her grandparents immigrated to New Zealand from Croatia. It was probably natural that Louise would end up in a Customer Service role as she has a long history of sorting out problems – she was child number ten out of eleven! Even her first job was in Customer Service; working in her father's pharmacy on Friday nights (although Louise admits she ended up spending more than she ever earned in the shop!)

Lulu admits to being a real ‘brainbox’ at school and was always one of the smartest in the class despite doing little to no study. She much preferred spending time at the beach, playing tennis, cycling or thinking up elaborate pranks to play on her older brothers.

After cruising through high school, Louise enrolled in a university course but quit after the first semester thinking she would return to studies after a short break. Instead she landed a job at a computer software company and stayed there two years, loving being part of the rapidly-advancing computer industry. She was then head-hunted by a friend who was working for BNZ Corporate Banking. That was the ‘80’s before the crash and Louise fondly remembers the days of long corporate lunches and not much work getting done. She has since completed a few marketing papers at University as the subject has always been fascinating to her and suits her competitive nature.

After a couple of years travelling, Louise spent five years as a stay at home Mum with her two children, Lena and Alexander. “They are the coolest, funniest, best-looking and most intelligent kids in the world but they hate me saying that” says Louise. Eventually she looked for a job and somehow ended up becoming an International Flight Attendant. That worked out great because she had lots of time to spend with the children on her many days off.

With her warm, welcoming and vivacious personality, Lulu climbed through the ranks of the airline quite quickly. “I enjoyed working first class and talking with many well known people including Pavarotti, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tom Cruise, Princess Anne and others, but my all time favourite was meeting the Spice Girls - they even invited me to their concert!”, recalls Louise.

She was then promoted to Supervisor, managing and ensuring everything ran smoothy on the aircraft; working mainly in the economy sections where Louise enjoyed seeing people jetting off on their first overseas holiday or flying to Fiji for their wedding. She enjoyed getting to know the passengers and making the journey more enjoyable and comfortable for them. The travel was also great,  “I got to know great spots in many overseas countries - I love love LOVE the Sunshine Coast in Australia, but my favourite was Japan - the food, the culture, but most importantly - the karaoke booths! I have always enjoyed singing and getting the chance to sing for hours on end in a private setting was heaven for me” says Lulu.

After 10 years she decided that she'd had enough of working 14 hour shifts through the night, and quit the airline to return to life on the ground. With the children being teenagers and not needing so much attention (but a lot more pocket money especially once they started at University), she looked around for a long time for a job that would give her the same satisfaction as flying. In 2007 Lulu finally found it at Zeald. “It's a great mix of getting to know our customers, solving their problems and having a fun atmosphere within the office” says Louise.

She has a passion for advising and helping out clients tweak and improve their website to improve turnover and results and finds it rewarding to hear all the success stories. "I enjoy keeping up to date with modern technology and the way the online world has changed over the years - particularly the way facebook, blogs and twitter can increase business" says Lulu.

As the children are now at university and doing their own thing, Lulu has time to enjoy playing tennis (a passion she shares with her husband Gary), taking hip hop dance lessons and keeping up to date with important news such as who got voted off Survivor. Lulu recently achieved something she had been wanting to do for a long time - and completed the Auckland Marathon in October. She's not quite sure what her next challenge will be - perhaps going for a hole in one in golf! Given her achievements to date we're pretty sure she'll do it
