Michelle Hodgson - A Biography

Michelle was born in the lovely Castor Bay Auckland. She aspired to be like her mum as a youngster and work in customer service role's. After leaving Rangitoto College that was the way her career went.

Michelle has had many roles within the customer service industry over the years in many different fields such as, Insurance (new business clerk), Bank as a Collection Officer, Concrete Cutting (administration), Apple Computer (reception, admin), Book Companys (customer service) Hotel (for the Junior Sailors Accommodation as receptionist, Carins-Australia) and her last position was with a Retirement Village as a Receptionist.

Michelle spent 6 years working for the Royal New Zealand Airforce at Base Whenuapai (as a civillan) which involved two positions the first one was working at Base Medical Flight as a Medical Accounts Clerk. She worked closely with the Consolidated Purchasing Flight and her goal was to become a Purchasing Officer within the Purchasing Team (which she did) one year later she was a General Materials Buyer, this role involved using SAP software (Systems, Applications and Processes) which over time she displayed a genuine knowledge of the practises, procedures and principles relating to purchasing within SAP. As Purchasing was re-assigned to Wellington, Michelle chose to leave the Airforce a choice that at the time was a hard decision as it was a fantastic place to work.

Michelle has three children all boys, Jesse 20, Kyle 18 and Zachary 3 (and a half, he always says) and while a big age gap she enjoys having her little man around – she says “it keeps the heart young”

Michelle in the last two years has taken fantastic life goal “try something new as much as you can” with this attitute, she has done Round the Bays twice, A SLR camera course a night school, Salsa dancing, and out of the blue decided to buy a guitar – which she says soothes the soul and takes all the problems away (if only she could play it she laughs).

Michelle believes life should be full of fun and laughter and is always smiling.
