Lisa Prohuber - A Biography
Coinciding with the move, Lisa decided to strive towards her passion for sales and moved into sales and marketing for a few years, before starting her own business consultancy company in 1998. The company, Proart Consultants was was set up to help small businesses with developing systems, financial planning and marketing. Following this venture, Lisa traveled back to Cairns for a short stint where she spent most of her spare time sailing around the Whitsundays for 3 months and returned to NZ married. Her passion for sales and a change in location opened up the opportunity for Lisa to enter the property business where she formed a successful career as Real Estate Marketing Specialist with LJ Hooker. She was in charge of developing marketing plans and selling property and all the while running an events company with her husband. Lisa and her husband now own their own business importing and selling directly to the wholesale and retail market. “This has definitely been the challenge of my life, having never managed stock and dealt with international suppliers. I would say that it was the biggest and most expensive learning curve that I have encountered.” She adds, “Having a small business has been a challenge especially over the past year with recession. We've had to be very strategic with our online marketing to maintain a place in the market.” When Lisa saw an opportunity to become an E-Business Consultant at Zeald.com, she grabbed the chance as she saw it as a great platform to assist businesses with finding solutions. Tapping into her own experience as a small business owner, Lisa is able to expertly guide her clients to use websites and other means of online marketing to turn their businesses into success. Lisa has two children who are the centre of her life along with her husband, and immensely enjoys spending time with them. In the weekends, you will find her in variety of places, from the west coast beaches where she grew up to chasing two small laughing children around the museum. “I never knew how much I could love something until these two came along.” |
