Vaughan’s real passion is for businesses to be able to sell on line and achieve amazing results in e-commerce. |
Vaughan is an experienced marketer – currently a director of Joint Venture Marketing, a management consulting firm that helps businesses increase their sales and marketing results. He first became involved with Zeald in 2004, referring a number of his own clients to Zeald. Seeing the great results – and the real value and benefits that Zeald were providing their customers – he said “I have to be part of this.”
Raised as a “Southern Man” (enjoying the outdoors, strong personal values and integrity, oh and enjoying a Speights now and then!) Vaughan commenced his career in Queenstown. After completing his training as a professional chef and moving quickly through the ranks in challenging culinary environments, he attained executive positions around the world. This also involved a number of start up businesses in Canada, New Zealand and while fulfilling a 6 month contract with Cunard Cruise Lines (on the number one cruise ship in the world – the Royal Viking Sun). From this Vaughan developed a broad base of business operational experience at many levels.
In 1996 he returned to New Zealand and started looking at other opportunities and challenges. Moving into business development, Vaughan became involved in a manufacturing business – Aakland Chemicals, a leading New Zealand manufacturer of hygiene, cleaning and sanitising products. While achieving significant growth in the Auckland operation as Sales and Marketing Manager for Aakland, Auckland, in 2001 he created, developed and ran under management his own business – a café and catering operation: Dolce Vita Cafe. He sold the successful business in 2003 and then went on to establish his own marketing consultancy. Vaughan now assists other businesses to grow and increase their sales results through his consulting firm joint venture marketing, www.jvmarketing.co.nz
It was a natural progression for Vaughan to take his experience in strategic marketing online. Knowing the real problems in measuring marketing results and effectiveness in the offline world – particularly for smaller businesses, he recognised the value that businesses required online.
Vaughan’s real passion is for businesses to be able to sell on line and achieve amazing results in ecommerce. One of Vaughan’s clients, The Studio of Tableware, are an example of a market leading company enjoying the benefits of ecommerce:
“We are pleased with the site. We're getting lots of compliments, but more to the point we are quite excited by the purchases.”
- Graham, the Studio of Tableware www.thestudio.co.nz
Vaughan is happily married to Nadine, a graphic artist working in advertising. Avid travellers, they have been around the world together and lived and worked in four other countries. They regularly go to Spain to stay with Nadine’s mother (as Nadine is Spanish) and relish the Tapas and Rioja!
Vaughan’s a bit of a wine aficionado (not yet a connoisseur he says – but working on it) and has a “modest” cellar, with predominantly New Zealand Riesling and Chardonnay, and French, Hawkes Bay and (of course) Spanish Reds.
To counter the wine indulgence, Vaughan is a keen exerciser – running (in particular trail running at Piha) and weight training and is a keen skier – when time and snow conditions allow.
