He first became involved with Zeald in 2004, referring a number of his own clients to Zeald (as a marketing consultant). Seeing the great results, and the real value and benefits that Zeald provided their customers, he said “I have to be part of this” (more about that later).
Vaughan commenced his career in Queenstown. After completing his training as a professional chef and moving quickly through the ranks in challenging culinary environments, he attained executive positions around the world.
In 1996 he returned to New Zealand and started looking at other opportunities and challenges. Moving into business development, Vaughan became involved in a manufacturing business and achieved significant growth in the Auckland operation as Sales and Marketing Manager.
After that (and further studies), he co-founded Joint Venture Marketing, a highly successful strategic marketing and sales management consultancy helping businesses realise their growth potential. It was a natural progression for Vaughan to take his experience in strategic marketing online, and Vaughan commenced part time with Zeald in 2006. Knowing the real problems in measuring marketing results and effectiveness in the offline world, he recognised the value that businesses could realise online.
Having developed a very successful practice over 6 years, consulting offline and online and achieving some outstanding results for clients, one of Vaughan’s clients offered him the position as CEO of a domestic renovation company (it’s Zeald website was generating over over $3 million annually). Consequently, he sold his consulting practice, and other businesses (he also created and developed two other successful businesses, a café and catering operation and an online gift store, Kookychoo.com) to take up this executive position.
But the desire to help businesses achieve great results online pulled Vaughan back to Zeald, and he now works full time. With his huge breadth of experience and knowledge (and proven results for clients), Vaughan is truly passionate to help businesses generate amazing results online.
Vaughan is happily married to Nadine, a graphic artist working in advertising. Avid travellers, they have been around the world together and lived and worked in four other countries. Now with new son – Fabian, (a great time waster!) he enjoys quality family time.
As a bit of a wine aficionado Vaughan has a “modest” cellar, with predominantly New Zealand Riesling and Chardonnay, and French and Spanish Reds. To counter the wine indulgence, Vaughan is a regular jogger and goes to the gym. And is a keen skier – when time and snow conditions allow.
