Victoria Riddell - A biography

Victoria has always embraced technology and like many of us found the internet a great tool for finding information, products and services except when poor websites made that too frustrating. She welcomes the opportunity to work first hand with businesses to improve or implement their websites.

Victoria’s business background started with selling office equipment from which she received the satisfaction of seeing how technology can give a company an edge in both presentation and time saving. This kept her happily employed for 15 years including some two years off with overseas travel.

Subsequent to her travels Victoria went into business with her partner and started a window joinery franchise on the North Shore of Auckland and learnt first hand how scary “start up” business can be. Not knowing anything about the joinery business, its archaic computer based design programme as well as finding a market all from day one was daunting to say the least. Undeterred and armed with am unwavering desire to succeed with her partner Victoria undertook three years of “hard labour” resulting in the business achieving turn-over in excess of three million per annum. The time was now right to sell and move on.

With a past knowledge of printer hardware Victoria’s move into selling printed material seemed logical, first working in flexographic (most commonly used in plastic packaging) and then offset printing from which she gained a variety of experience by working with a range of businesses as a supplier and expert in printed promotional material.

The move to Zeald seemed a natural progression given Victoria’s combined experience in business management and print technologies as it offered the ability to use her experience to help businesses make the most of their opportunities on line.

Victoria has a passion for food and wine and loves nothing better than spending the day cooking for a bunch of friends. She ran a luxury lodge just North of Wellington for two years and thoroughly enjoyed meeting her many offshore guests and cooking them a taste of New Zealand. She also loves sport and is a keen golfer although as the saying goes there is the occasion when her game seems more like ‘a good walk spoiled’, but persist she does as the love of the game overrides the handicap.
