Michelle Whitmore joined Zeald.com as an E-business consultant in January 2008, after being an enthusiastic client and supporter of Zeald’s since early 2006.

That was when Michelle was searching for a website company that could deliver results online and she found Zeald.com.
“I can identify with the Gillette man on television – the one who stated that he liked the product so much, that he bought the company,” says Michelle. In 2006, Michelle's company, Seeit Promotions, had a need for a website that could help them win an important new client who required online ordering facilities. Michelle says they researched their options and bought a website from Zeald.com. "It was the best decision we could have made, and from there, I started to introduce Zeald to all of my Seeit Marketing clients and it’s just mushroomed from there really, with the purchase of the local Zeald.com license being the ultimate start to 2008!” says Michelle. Most people who know Michelle would say that her marketing consultancy has been her passion for the past few years. Her enthusiasm, imagination and strategic thinking have appealed to all her clients and her genuine desire to help others means that she now counts many of her clients as her close friends as well. “At Seeit, I have been fortunate to work alongside a range of clients from those with national brands, to exporters, to people starting up their own business for the first time,” says Michelle. “In my role as a marketing consultant over the past few years, I have witnessed the rise and rise of the Internet, which is what lead me to pursue a formal relationship with Zeald.com so that I could continue to stay up with marketing trends and provide a complete holistic marketing service,” says Michelle.
Michelle believes that the four years she spent at Massey University in Palmerston North have helped her handle the huge learning curve that is part of succeeding as a E-Business Consultant. At Massey, Michelle completed a BA Honours in Humanities and then followed up with a post graduate Dip Bus Admin in Business. While the combination of marketing, websites and history may seem like a curious career path to some, Michelle firmly believes that it’s her training in history and English that allows her to think logically in a business environment (which also means that she supports Bob Jones’ theory that all students should pursue an Arts degree if they want to get ahead in business!).
So how did she get from there to here? Following her stint at Massey, Michelle spent a year at Nga Tawa School in her home town of Marton in the Rangitikei, where she researched and wrote their 100 year history for their Centennial Celebrations in 1991. Immediately after the book was published, Michelle decided to head over to London for her “mandatory” OE. While there, she was fortunate to be employed by a large company who furnished her with a company vehicle. Such a luxury was almost unheard of in those days; making her very popular with her many flat mates plus assorted dossers.
On returning home to Palmerston North in 1994, Michelle was employed by EziBuy, first as their Quality Manager, then as their Distribution Centre Manager (managing 240 staff) and then as their Marketing Manager. Here she found her niche and following a move to Tauranga in 1998, Michelle was retained by EziBuy for a further two years to assist them with their launch into Australia and with the management of the newly introduced Fly Buys programme. It was only on the birth of her third child, that the logistics of regular travel between Tauranga and Palmerston North became impossible and so the notion of Michelle establishing and running an independent marketing consultancy was born.
Outside of work, Michelle is kept busy by her three children (now aged 11, 10 and 7) and she can be found coaching netball, supporting soccer, and driving her kids and their friends to sports and social events. She is currently training for local triathlons and she plans to repeat her 2006 effort of biking round Lake Taupo in November. Her previous effort resulted in a time of 7hrs 20 mins, so with a bit more training this year, Michelle is hoping to get around in less than 7 hours. She is also an avid reader of novels (particularly New Zealand literature during the year, and chick lit during the summer holidays) and she enjoys travel, with trips planned to the USA this year and to Vietnam next year. Her trip to the USA will be particularly exciting as she plans on catching up with her host family from her Rotary Youth exchange student year which occurred in 1985. This homecoming will be her fifth since that wonderful year abroad some 23 years ago.
It seems that Michelle's hard work to learn about Zeald is already making an impression with new clients, as is evidenced here:
Thanks Michelle -I have to say that we were fizzing after your visit and couldn't really concentrate on anything else for a while. You have opened up so much more to us than JUST a website! Thanks for your time and we look forward to working with you.
