Phil Forman - A biography

Phil has grown with HHA Associates Limited and is excited about the next chapter being their association with Zeald. It is especially exciting for Phil to be talking to business owners and working with them to get the most out of their business.

Phil’s background in computers stems straight from school where he was employed by the very first computer bureau in Christchurch. Phil spent the next 12 years working as a systems analyst at several bureaux. During this time Phil worked with many different software products for a number of of business types from local bodies to export/import industry to manufacturing and to small business owners.

With the knowledge base that Phil built up with this bureau experience, he decided it was time to share his expertise and knowledge and took on the role of IT Manager with a national book retailer, Whitcoulls.

After finishing reading all the books in the store, Phil thought it was time to return to grass roots and took on the challenge of finding out why farming was the life-blood of the economy. As IT Systems Manager for the Mainland’s largest stock and station company, Pyne Gould Guinness, he oversaw the design and implementation of a diverse range of systems. In fact the IT department was a bureau for the company and gave Phil endless opportunities to be out-of-the-office and on with the gummies.

There was also a heap of money-management systems to work on, there, and with associated companies.

A change in direction brought him into a South Canterbury based firm, HHA Associates Limited.

HHA Associates Limited specialises in all manner of Business Accounting software and support, and Phil’s role there has principally been in the support of their Finance House software.

Phil has grown with HHA Associates Limited and is excited about the next chapter being their association with Zeald. It is especially exciting for Phil to be talking to business owners and working with them to get the most out of their business.

Having the Zeald component to their offerings means HHA Associates Limited can now meet virtually all ‘office systems’ requirements a client could wish for. Phil especially relishes the challenge of tying data from disparate systems together.

Out of work time, Phil has always had an interest aeronautical things and obtained his Private Pilot License a few years ago. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be quite enough hours in the day to utilise it much, but someday if he cut back on the (recreational) cycling and sea-kayaking jaunts off Banks Peninsula, there might be more time for flying.

Phil and his wife now have a whole heap of grass to mow, but the neighbour's dairy cows make that painless and profitable. Other than grass there’s the usual assortment of cats, dog, chooks, sheep and scores of electric fence standards to keep everything in its rightful place – even the dog doesn’t wander now!

As the latest addition to the Zeald team, Phil is looking forward to an exciting partnership introducing new clients to the Zeald family and is also excited about using his IT and business expertise to help Zeald's clients become successful.
