Zeald’s award-winning growth running at almost 400%

fast50_award.jpgBy chalking up sales growth of almost 400% in the past three years, Zeald has pushed its way into a top 20 place in the just announced Deloitte / Unlimited Fast 50 awards.

The Albany-based web site developer recorded sales growth of 391.4% for the period. Its latest result (the company had a 19th ranking in the fast 50), follows on from it winning of the Excellence in Marketing category at this year’s Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.
Chief Executive Officer David Kelly says the company’s growth record reflects the passion and commitment which his team has shown over the past seven years.

“Over this time we have built more than 2000 web sites and established ourselves as one of the country’s leading advisers to small-medium businesses on website and online marketing strategies.

“Our real point of difference is that our focus is on helping businesses achieve results with their websites, by recognizing that they are a powerful sales and marketing tool, not just a shop window to an organisation.

“This approach is meeting a real need, particularly amongst small and medium-sized businesses, many of which are run by practical people unfamiliar with the technical language of web and graphic designers.”

He says more and more New Zealanders are getting online, yet there are over 200,000 small-medium businesses in New Zealand that are not getting enough from their websites, or don't even know where to start.

His latest project is a book designed to share his team’s expertise in what makes websites work more effectively for organisations. It’s called The Secrets of Website Persuasion and it’s designed to help unravel the mysteries of web marketing.

An advocate of educating small and medium-sized businesses on how they should set up web sites that deliver results, he has over the past 18 months spoken to more than 3000 people at the 60 free seminars that Zeald has run throughout New Zealand.

David Kelly says one constraint the company is facing is its need to recruit more e-business consultants.

“We currently have 22 operational staff and four researchers as well as a network of 18 specialised e-business consultants operating throughout the country. But we need more people who want to become self-employed e-business consultants.
